Heritage Plaza

Heritage Plaza greets visitors to the Downtown Commercial Historic District from its lush setting on West Fifth Street.  Surrounded by towering oaks, the life-sized bronze “On the Banks of the Bosque” by Bruce Greene (hyperlink Bruce Greene ::: Cowboy Artist (brucegreeneart.com) is the focal point of the small public park.

Heritage Plaza was one of the earliest Clifton Main Street projects and provides a beautiful, central setting for Greene’s sculpture – a reminder of Clifton’s agricultural heritage and position on the Chisholm Trail.  The plaza project began in 1997 and was completed in 1999.  With the receipt of a Texas Department of Agriculture grant in 2007, improvements were made by adding a more natural water feature, trees, and the Saint Augustine lawn.  The plaza offers a peaceful space for contemplation and relaxation just a short walk to Clifton’s vibrant downtown marketplace.

Heritage Plaza is supported by the City of Clifton and Clifton Main Street.
