The Central Texas Astronomical Society owns and operates the Paul and Jane Meyer Observatory at the Turner Research Station, our dark sky site near Clifton, Texas. The Central Texas Astronomical Society is a close knit group of folks who are passionate about learning, observing, and sharing the wonders of the heavens with the public and with school children throughout Central Texas. The group has its own personal observing programs and conducts events at schools, public parks, and at its own facility, the Meyer Observatory.

The Meyer Observatory, near Clifton was made possible by a generous donation from Paul and Jane Meyer of Waco. At the observatory members guide young people in Central Texas to compete in science fairs and to perform astronomical research in collaboration with leading astronomers.

The Meyer Observatory is at the Turner Research Station, 14801 FM 182 between Gatesville and Clifton. Access is by appointment at times other than public programs; however special visits can be arranged. For more information visit
