History Sites Around Clifton

Modern Clifton arose from the business and community functions of area farmers and ranchers as they gathered in local businesses, churches, and meeting halls with townsfolk.  As in many cities across Texas, much of our history spreads beyond our city limit signs to older settlements whose owners traveled to town for trade, worship, and entertainment.  Those individuals and influences continue to play a key role in the life that has developed here.
